Press Release: Statoil awards contract for integrated marine operations system to Vissim
Vissim has been awarded a long term global framework contract for supply, maintenance and development of Statoil’s advanced Marine Operations System comprising onshore operational control rooms, emergency control rooms both offshore and onshore, real time remote radar and voice communication equipment. The contract has an estimated yearly value of 15 mnok. The contract constitutes a renewal and upgrade of a long term agreement and cooperation between Vissim and Statoil which was initiated in 1996.
With this contract, Vissim continues the development of the world’s largest private remote real time radar, emergency, currently comprising 100 radars divided on 70 rigs. The system includes radar, AIS and VHF within an advanced IT and communication network. The system is built upon Vissim’s leading vessel traffic management platform.
The system ensures maximum performance and flexibility by allowing Statoil to handle all own and 3rd party operator rigs and sensors within its network from its real time control center and is pre-primed for integrating global Statoil assets.
- We are very pleased that Statoil has chosen to continue its long stand cooperation with Vissim and we are looking forward to being part of Statoil’s future developments on the NCS. This award underlines the usage of remote real time data onshore in order to save significant cost in operation on NCS, says Per Arne Henæs, CEO of Vissim.
