Vissim has solved the challenges of locating hazardous electrical equipment in ATEX zones by using a combination of EXD (explosion/flame proof enclosures, group IIC) and EXP (pressurized enclosures) solutions.
Ex(p-s)-radar dome is designed to meet the requirements of ATEX or IECEx.
The radar dome is suitable for all kinds of surveillance applications needing an Ex-protected enclosure for harsh weather conditions – wind, mist, rain, snow, hail, sand, salt spray or wide temperature fluctuations. It consists of a dome made of fiberglass composite and a support structure made of stainless steel. It includes an overpressure control system to prevent the ingress of explosive gases. The system also incorporates an ex-safe work lamp and an ex-safe power outlet, as well as a shutdown-protected electrical distribution cabinet.
Choosing the right ATEX radar dome for a given antenna can improve overall system performance and extend the lifespan of components and the system itself.
