Sustainability and ESG focus

Towards a sustainable tomorrow

Sustainability at Vissim goes beyond mere business decisions. It encompasses a holistic approach that involves making responsible choices, creating value, and safeguarding the environment, all while contributing to the betterment of society. It is the driver for our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) focus.

We firmly believe that by integrating sustainability into our core operations, we can actively drive positive change and ensure a prosperous future for generations to come. It is important to us to be a trusted partner to all our stakeholders and remain fully committed to the principles of the United Nations Global Compact.

Our sustainability mission:

Our mission is to operate in an environmentally responsible manner and promote sustainability in everything we do. We strive to integrate sustainable practices into our business operations and inspire others to join us in our journey towards a greener and more sustainable world. Vissim is actively aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), a comprehensive set of 17 global objectives established by the UN General Assembly in 2015.

Environmental impact

We are committed to minimizing the environmental footprint of our products, services, and operations.

At Vissim, we go beyond innovating sustainable technologies for our customers. We adopt a proactive and precautionary environmental management approach by:

  • Offering environmentally friendly technology, products, and services to minimize the impact of our activities and those of our customers.

  • Implementing measures to reduce energy consumption, emissions, and effectively manage waste .

  • Continuously striving to minimize our environmental footprint through ongoing improvement efforts.

Vissim plays a vital role in facilitating efficiency enhancements for customers involved in offshore wind farms, ports, and advanced maritime domain systems. These advancements enable our customers to effectively decrease their environmental impact. Our primary societal contribution lies in promoting a reduced environmental footprint for marine businesses, leading to improved conditions for life both on and beneath the water’s surface.

Social commitment

At VISSIM, we firmly believe in embracing social responsibility as a core principle.

Vissim has made a commitment to respecting internationally recognized human and labour rights throughout our own operations as well as in our supply chain. Respecting human rights is fundamental to sound risk management and our value creation.

This entails actively addressing key issues such as the safeguarding of human rights, promoting diversity, and upholding sustainable supply chain standards. Our commitment extends beyond these areas to prioritize health protection, employee development, and ensuring the safety of residents.

To fulfill our social responsibilities, we actively engage with the community through initiating social projects, maintaining a constant dialogue with stakeholders, and supporting our employees’ growth. Through these efforts, we strive to make a positive impact and foster a sustainable and inclusive environment.

The Vissim Code of Conduct (CoC) describes Vissim’s ethical principles, commitments and requirements of expected behaviour in areas such as anti-corruption and conflict of interest. We recognise that how we act, affects people’s trust in Vissim. It is therefore important to have high personal and professional integrity, and that we act professionally with customers, colleagues, owners, partners, authorities and others.

The Code of Conduct is Vissim`s main ethical framework, describing and defining expectations, commitments and requirements in how we should act. It reflects our values, shapes the foundation for our culture and is at the top level of our governing document hierarchy. The CoC was approved by the Board of Directors in December 2023.

As a result, risk management is an ongoing and an integral part of our daily operations.

To uphold the integrity of our actions, we establish a robust framework through our internal guidelines and corporate values. These guidelines and values serve as our compass, ensuring that we manage our organization in accordance with sound ethical and legal principles.
